Gaming Machine Council Permits

Permits generally fall into the categories below & we'll happily advise the best route for your business.

Licensed Premises Permit (Pubs)

Premises licensed to serve alcohol for consumption on the premises.


As part of the premises license, licensed premises have an automatic entitlement for two gaming machines with a maximum cost per game of £1 and a maximum jackpot of £100. A one of notification & £50 fee will need to be made to your local licensing authority. An application to have more than two machines can also be made and this is subject to a £150 application & an annual £50 fee.

Members-Only Club Permit

There are two categories of clubs:

  • Commercial Clubs - Privately owned businesses like Snooker Clubs

  • Committee run not for profit clubs - For example Working Men’s / Union / Ex-Servicemen & Social Clubs.

​Commercial Clubs

The most common example being Sports Clubs such as Snooker and Golf. Commercial clubs can have three machines with a maximum cost per game of up to £2 and a maximum jackpot of £400.

Working Men’s / Union / Ex-servicemen & Social Clubs

Not for profit clubs can have the same machines as commercial clubs. However, one machine may be a B3A machine with a maximum £2 stake & £500 pay-out. To view these machines please click here.

Family Arcade Permits

We supply many different attractions with a large footfall of families from Holiday Parks to visitor attractions.

Maximum cost per game of 10p and a maximum jackpot of £5.
