Gaming Machine Code Of Conduct
(Premises Licenced To Serve Alcohol)

The supply of gaming machines is a regulated activity. Anyone who sells, supplies or maintains gaming machines must be licensed and comply with the requirements of the Gaming Act 2005 which is regulated by The UK Gambling Commission.

This section provides key information to ensure the machines we supply meet the requirements set out by the regulator. Where guidance has been provided we have referenced publications from the Gambling Commission. Please contact us for further information or clarification.

Premises Responsibilities (Click to view the Gambling Commission's Code Of Conduct)

  • Gaming machines shall be located where their use can be monitored by bar & floor staff. (See 2.1)

  • Staff must monitor the use of machines ensuring vulnerable groups are prevented from accessing them. (See 3). Vulnerable groups include but are not limited to:

      - Under 18's

      - Those displaying signs of problem gambling

      - Self-excluded individuals

  • Customers requesting exclusion from gambling should have their details recorded to exclude them for an agreed period (not less than six months). We recommend implementing a similar system as you use to bar customers.

  • Gaming machines will be located away from ATM's (Cash Machines) to ensure those who use gaming machines will cease gambling to withdraw further funds.

  • Gaming machines will only be made available for use during the hours the premises is permitted to serve alcohol.

The code of practice stipulates the responsibility for compliance will be assigned to a designated person. It is agreed that unless we have been specifically advised otherwise this will be the 'designated premises supervisor' listed on the premises license.
